Now, a single drop of blood can detect 13 types of cancer, say new studies. Ya, a new technology in screening method, using a single drop of blood, can detect different types of cancer affecting lungs, stomach, liver, pancreas, breast, esophagus, colorectal tract etc.. by testing the differences in microRNA.

A kind of non-coding RNAs, a newly discovered molecules found in microRNAs, can play a key role in the regulation of gene expression by which 30% of all mammalian protein-encoding may accurately be tuned at a certain post-transcriptional level. Researchers, with this new screening method, were able to detect the specific microRNA leading to these 13 types of cancer with 95% accuracy in their test.
Now a days, patients are unfortunately undergone to multiple tests to find out cancer in different areas. What is the advantage of the this new test is that multiple forms of cancer can be detected in a single test. So this is really a new technology that will definitely be a boon for patients in future.
