Apple’s iPhone 8 introduces Facial Scanning system replacing Touch ID

Facial scanning feature is no longer a new one from the time Samsung Galaxy S8 introduced it first.  But when Apple’s iPhone 8 introduces it later this year, it is rumored that Apple’s Facial scanning system will be more secure and robust.

While Samsung Galaxy S8’s scanning system relies on depth data gleaned through specialized sensors and cameras, Apple’s iPhone 8 is expected to have a 3D laser scanner to accomplish this task and rumored that Touch ID may be replaced with facial recognition.

It is also reported that 3D laser scanner will help improve auto focus and the vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser will improve a huge improvement to depth detection.

However, according to reliable sources, the 3D scanning may not be ready in time and so it may be postponed for the next version, even though Apple engineers are working hard to bring it to the iPhone 8 itself.
